If anyone of you goes to the market and looks at everyone present there, you will see that all of them are selling in different groups, sitting in different places, walking, standing, and talking according to their status. Each person is trying his best to get his products sold. But even in this, not everyone is in the same situation. In search of sustenance, some are sitting, some are standing, some are arguing, some are running, some are silent, some are guarding their goods, some are counting their cash, some are shouting to get their goods sold.
From these conditions it is known to what extent people are absorbed in seeking livelihood and seeking the world. How much of their precious time they spend in acquiring these things? In doing so, if they earn huge profits then they are on cloud nine and if they suffer huge losses, they will be ruined in debt. But you are a Mu’min (believer). For you, in this crowded market of the world, Allaah Ta’aala has thought something else, something special. From this market you have to trade less for this world-Duniyaa, rather trade more for the Hereafter-Aakherat.
How intelligent, understanding and clever you are while handling the tasks of the world. Then compared to this material world, life of Hereafter is far more greater, excellent, everlasting and beautiful. For that, how much firmness there should be in your efforts and how sharp your intelligence and wisdom should be. If you want to benefit in the Hereafter, then consider it a very great success. For this, you will have to face hardship and patience here. This hardship is of Ibaadat (worship). After fulfilling it, there is only comfort and relief after leaving this world.
The Masjid is the cradle of Ibaadat. Through it, the reality and picture of the environment-maqaamaat of the Hereafter becomes evident. If you go to the Masjid, you will look and realize that no one is dependent on anyone. Everyone is engrossed in himself. As if to climb the ladder of the Hereafter, everyone is doing some deed or the other.
- Someone is sitting after forming a Saff (row),
- Someone is sitting away from the group, away from the Saff,
- Someone is standing and making Du’aa,
- Someone is sitting and doing Tasbeeh,
- Someone, despite being in the Masjid, is trapped in worldly talk and backbiting,
- Someone is worshipping with a pure heart like a Zaahid (ascetic),
- Someone is in Ruku, someone is in Sajadah (prostration)
- Someone in a corner is making others listen to words of wisdom,
- Someone’s eyes are flowing with tears due to fear of Qiyaanat,
- Someone is expressing the reward of meeting Allaah Ta’aala and his love for Him,
- Someone, regretting his own weakness and ignorance, has fallen on the ground in such a way as if he has surrendered himself to Allaah Ta’aala,
- Someone is so silent that he fears lest something be uttered against Allaah or His Deen,
- Someone is bearing hard labour in Ibaadat and trembling due to hunger,
- Someone comes with a sick heart so that it may be cured due to Ibaadat (worship) ,
- Someone remembers death,
- Someone, who’s sick looking at a healthy person, sits with hope of Shifaa (cure), some helpless and weak person sits with hope of getting strength.
In this way, if you observe, everyone’s condition is different. Every grateful person is happy with his own condition. But his worldly desires are endless. He keeps on wandering in search of success and
transformation. In the greed of getting more of everything, he ruins his own happiness. One should realize that the Grace of Allaah is upon each and every one. This Ma'refat (recognition) is less for someone, and more for others. In this short worldly life, one has to prepare for doing noble work. Today the situation may be such that doing any good deed is very easy, but perhaps tomorrow, or as time passes, that same work may become difficult.
- Today superiority - tomorrow inferiority,
- Today richness - tomorrow poverty,
- Today health – tomorrow sickness,
- Today youth tomorrow old age,
- Today freedom in this world, tomorrow captivity in Hereafter.
Leaving these conditions of Fasaad (corruption) and Fitnah (trials), you have to go into the condition of Sukoon (peace) and Raahat (comfort). |
